The Other Side
in process
Another complex piece that required multiple stagings. Four Bezels were created for the stones. The techniques used that compose this piece include reticulation, forging, and the use of tubing.
1.Creating the bezels for the stones is first. This allows me to layout the design with the separate pieces, and move them around to find the design. A design can go from really great to just “OK” by just a few millimeters
2.Soldering the first components together... tubing and forged “swoopy thing”.
3.Filing a notch so that my turquoise bezel fits just perfectly.
4.Soldering the bezel for the moonstone.
5.The last solder is the bezel for the rutilated quartz that will hang down. This is a balancing act.
6.The last thing before finishing is crafting the chain and setting the stones.
A balancing act for the last few solders.
A chain is made, stones are set.
